There are three ways that the Museum goes about building its collection:
While the Museum appreciates being given the opportunity to consider any item, we cannot guarantee that it will be accepted. Developing a museum collection is a managed process and there are many reasons why an item may be regarded as not suitable. Some of these may include; whether we have examples already, their condition, and their provenance.
If it is decided to accept material into our collection it is important that we complete the relevant documentation fully and accurately. All details relating to the object and the donor are required and you will be asked to complete a receipt form. We are unable to accept donations without the completion of the receipt form.
