                            Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens at the party?
A:  After being greeted by the Host the party is taken through a drill session before they march down to our behind-the-scenes open storage hangar where they are given their behind the scenes tour - including jumping out of the Andover! After their behind-the-scenes guided tour the party  visit the Pacific Simulator Room where the party experience a bombing raid complete with sound effects, lights and smoke! Then it's back to the cafe for their party food at their specially prepared table and receive their loot bag full of goodies. The meal is followed by cake and presents after which parents are free to pick up their children. We also suggest you schedule some time to allow the party to have a look around the Museum!

Q: How long is the party?

A: The party lasts two hours including your guided behind the scenes tour, party food, cake and presents.

                            Q:How much does it cost?
A:$21 per child including food with optional extras such as the Birthday Cake.

Q: You mention party invites for $5 a pack, what do they look like?

A: Our party invites have been designed in-house and are aviation themed. Click to enlarge the samples below.

Q: You mention parties being suitable for 5-12 year olds, my daughter is turning 4, is this OK?
A: Yes, we tailor the level of the party to the age of the children. 5-12 years is merely a guideline.

Q: Do you have a maximum or minimum number of children?
A: Yes, our minimum is 7 children and our maximum is 40 children.

Q: How much does it cost for adults that come along?
A: Two adults are allowed to join the party group free of charge and if extra adults would like to stay with the party for the duration, visiting the behind-the-scenes hangar and Pacific Room areas with the party, then the cost is $3 per adult. If the extra adults are happy to wave the children off as they visit the hangars and Pacific Room and then meet up with them again for the party in the Cafe, then there is no charge. While they are waiting, the adults may wish to view the Museum displays, or they could just enjoy a coffee in the Café while they wait.

Q: I will also be bringing my toddler along to the party. Do I have to pay for him/her?
A: If the younger child will be joining in and would like their own serving of food, and their own balloon, parachute man and power-prop glider, then we suggest you pay separately for them. However, if the child is happy to tag along and just have a small serving of food from the supply for the party, then there is no extra cost for them.

Q: What are the menu options?
A: Please see our list of menu options here:

Q: You mention paratrooper parties being suitable for 6-12 year olds, my daughter is turning 5 and would like this party rather than the propeller party, is this OK?
A: Yes, we give the age as a guideline. Please be aware however that he Paratrooper Party involves loud noises and bright lights in the Pacific Room Bombing Raid Experience that are not always appreciated by timid 5 year olds.

Q: Can I bring extra food to the party?
A: No extra food is needed at the party, the food provided will fill up the children! There are two exceptions to this rule. First, we can provide a Spitfire Birthday Cake for $50 or a Gluten Free Birthday Cake for $50, however you are also welcome to bring your own cake. Second, we bag up all the children's bits and pieces (kit-set glider, parachute man, colouring in, etc) into "loot bags" and if you would like to bring wrapped lollies to compliment these non-edible treats, you are more than welcome. The loot bags will be given to the children as they leave.
