Anne Frank ExhibitionThe Anne Frank Exhibition will be exhibited at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in 2011. The Anne Frank travelling exhibition was created by the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam and tells the story of Anne Frank and the Holocaust to people who can't visit the museum. The exhibition has been displayed in more than 150 cities over the past few years.Using large panels, the exhibition tells the Anne Frank story through a timeline, against the backdrop of a general history of World War II and the Holocaust. With over 200 personal photographs from the Frank family plus quotes from Anne's famous diary, visitors can get a full picture of the story and its place in the Holocaust. It shows the Frank family's flight to The Netherlands, their time in hiding and the people who helped them. And then the sudden betrayal which led to their transportation to concentration camps and death. There is also a new half-hour documentary which tells the remarkable stories of New Zealanders who survived the Holocaust or who helped people to hide. The film was specially made to run alongside the exhibition, giving it a New Zealand perspective. "No one that sees this exhibition and walks through this 'house with a story' could ever forget what racial hatred can do to a society." Hon. John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand. |
