What's On
Embark on a unique journey of discovery and adventure...
Whether you live locally or are visiting Christchurch for the first time, are mad about aviation, or simply want a great day out for the whole family, the Air Force Museum has something for you. Fully interactive flight simulators and educational, hands-on displays will amaze while our guided tours take you exploring behind the scenes to see our fascinating restoration projects in action. With so much to see and do at the Air Force Museum we recommend 2-3 hours for a visit - though many stay longer!
You are welcome to explore the Air Force Museum by yourself, but the best way to make the most of your visit is to take one of our guided tours. For family fun you can sign up for the Air Force Adventure, to go behind the scenes take our Behind the Scenes Tour and for a historic walking tour book in for Discover Wigram. Many visitors also enjoy the chance to fly our Mosquito Flight Simulator - complete with a real WW2 bomber cockpit, all new graphics and three levels of difficulty.
We also offer a great range of activities for prebooked groups - enjoy a delicious morning or afternoon tea in our authentic wartime home with a 1940s Tea Party, view a selection of historic black and white films from our archives with Reeling Back Time, bring your group for a Holiday Programme Visit or have your Kids' Party with us and experience a bombing raid!
