COVID-19 (NOVEL CORONAVIRUS)

UPDATE 22 September 2020:

With the move back to Alert Level 1 at midnight on 22 September, our Museum will once again be moving much closer to normal business.

Our interactive spaces, including the Mosquito Mission simulator and 'Captured' exhibition are now open for visitors to enjoy once again. To ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and visitors, we are continuing our heightened cleaning regime, and hand sanitiser stations will still be in place around the Museum, which we encourage people to make use of.

There is no longer a requirement to complete a contact tracing register when you enter the Museum, however, as per Government recommendations, we encourage people to continue to keep their own personal diaries of where they have been. QR codes will still be available for those who wish to check in via the Government, or CHECKIN-19 apps.

As we ease back to full normality, we are continuing to operate under slightly reduced opening hours, to allow time for additional cleaning. Currently, we are open 10am-4pm daily. For our Contact Cafe hours, please click here.

Our Behind the Scenes tours will resume from Wednesday 24 September, when our volunteers return to duty, and there are no longer restrictions on group visits, including Birthday Parties, Education visits and Holiday Programmes.

For further guidance on Alert Level 1, please refer to the official New Zealand Government COVID-19 website.
