Update on Alert Level 2

The Museum is open with some additional precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and visitors. 

These include: 

  • Face coverings – in accordance with Government regulations, masks are now mandatory when visiting indoor public venues, including museums. Visitors are welcome to remove these when consuming food or drink from the Café.  
  • Contact tracing – all visitors will be required to check in upon entering the Museum, using either the Government contact tracing app, or manual form. 
  • Social distancing – please keep a 2m distance from others while visiting the Museum. 
  • Hand sanitiser stations are available for use around the Museum. 
  • A heightened cleaning regime, with particular attention being paid to surfaces such as handrails. 
  • Temporary stand-down of our Museum volunteers. 
  • Temporary closure of all interactives and high-contact spaces, with the exception of the touch-free 'Balloon Busters' challenge. 

In addition, please note that the following offerings are temporarily suspended until we return to Level 1: 

School holiday programmes and activities are still being planned to go ahead at this stage, but please note that this is dependent on a return to Alert Level 1.

Open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm (except Christmas Day)
Entry to the Museum is free, donations are appreciated.
