UPDATE 27 February 2021:
With the move to Alert Level 2 at 6am on Sunday 28 February, we'd like to make all visitors aware of what this means for your visit.
We would still love to see you in our space, and the Museum will remain open in Alert Level 2, with some additional precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and visitors.
These include:
- Contact tracing - all visitors will need to sign in upon entering the Museum, using either the Government contact tracing app, CHECKIN-19 QR code system, or manual form.
- Increased signage around hygiene and social distancing.
- Hand sanitiser stations around the Museum.
- A heightened cleaning regime, with particular attention being paid to surfaces such as handrails.
- Temporary stand-down of our Museum volunteers and suspension of our Behind the Scenes Tours.
Given the high touch nature of many of our exhibits, our interactives won’t be available in Alert Level 2. This includes the Mosquito Mission simulator, Vampire and Macchi cockpits, Hercules cabin, etc. The kids’ corner and ‘Captured’ exhibition will also be temporarily closed, but you can still have a go at the touch-free 'Balloon Busters' challenge.
For further guidance on Alert Level 2, please refer to the official New Zealand Government COVID-19 website.
If you have any questions about your visit, please don't hesitate to contact us.
