Ugly and perpetually underrated – the Bristol Freighter is arguably one of the finest aircraft to serve in the RNZAF. Come and hear why!
Guide Alan Turner – who first flew aboard the Freighter as a five-year-old and then later served as a Freighter navigator during the Vietnam conflict – will tell the story of this extraordinary workhorse that served New Zealand in Malaya, Borneo and Vietnam.
Alan will also tell the tale of how, in April 1975, our Freighter became the final RNZAF aircraft to leave Vietnam.
Beauty is only skin deep – and Alan will tell you why!
