Overview

Armistice Day Ceremony

The centenary of Armistice Day will be marked here at the Museum of Sunday with a morning of commemoration. There will be an outdoor ceremony, led by the Woolston Brass Band and representatives from the New Zealand Defence Force, commencing at 10.45am. Following this, people will be invited to make their way to the Museum’s Aircraft Hall, where the ‘Armistice Concert for Peace’ will commence.

'Armistice Concert for Peace'

Rediscover the feelings of joy and relief experienced by people all over the world at the end of World War One, through the ‘Armistice Concert for Peace’. This free commemorative concert will be held at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand on Sunday, 11 November, and will feature performances by Music Canterbury affiliates, including:

• Christchurch City Choir
• Neerlandia Choir
• Cecilian Singers
• All Singers’ Choir
• Apollo Musicum
