Antarctic Activities at the Air Force Museum
October marks the beginning of the Antarctic season, with the first flights to the ice usually leaving around this time from Christchurch Airport.
But who says you need to get on a plane to experience Antarctica?
These October school holidays, there’ll be lots of fun Antarctic-themed activities for kids at the Museum!
Overview
- Craft activities will run for 50 minutes, starting at 11am and 2pm every weekday (4-8 October & 11-15 October)
- The activities will take place in our Cochrane Gallery, up the stairs from the Atrium
- Tamariki must be accompanied by an adult
- A gold coin donation is appreciated
You’ll also have the opportunity to go on one of our brand new Antarctic-themed Museum Hunts! Snowflake searching, Antarctic aircraft spotting & code cracking, do you think you’re up for the challenge? Visit our Museum Hunts page for more information.
We look forward to seeing you at the Air Force Museum these October school holidays!
